BEKUM was founded in 1958 in Berlin, Germany and has ever since played a very significant role in the writing of blow molding technology. The very same year BEKUM introduced the first neck finish calibration in the world which is still used by all manufacturers of blow molding machines to date.
Numerous inventions and over 40 patents followed, such as the first double station machines (1963), six-layer co-extrusion heads (1970), and other trend-setting innovations which became industry standard. With over 20,000 blow molding machines shipped and manufacturing plants in Europe, the USA and Brazil, together with sales and service subsidiaries in Africa and Asia, BEKUM is one the few global players in the extrusion blow molding sector.
BEKUM DO BRASIL
The Brazilian subsidiary was founded in 1975, following the demand of major customers in the region for a reliable blow molding technology for high output applications in the packaging market and in the automotive industry. Right from the beginning Bekum do Brasil manufactured blow molders in compliance with the rigorous quality standards of the brand which immediately gained the confidence of customers in Brazil and throughout Latin American.
In the past 35 years Bekum do Brasil has shipped over 1,300 machines and formed a great number of blow molding experts who contributed in no small part to the development of the blow molding industry in Brazil. Currently the Brazilian plant manufactures a wide range of blow molding equipment ranging from capacities of 50 ml to 160 liters for mono- and multilayer applications.
